Student Housing Shortage Across North America: Urgent Need for Rental Accommodations
As we approach the fall, many college and university campuses are announcing their plans to have students return to in-person classes. A new normal is being established and safety measures put in place for students to resume learning on-campus, as situations related to the COVID-19 global pandemic improve.
Students across North America are currently making arrangements to return to campus for in-person learning this upcoming semester, yet finding it difficult to locate affordable housing accommodations. Low vacancy rates in cities throughout Canada and the United States are making it difficult for students to secure leases. This poses an even greater problem for international students returning from abroad.
Landlords and property managers with rental vacancies are encouraged to list their properties online immediately, as students are actively searching for accommodations now. A variety of units are needed, including individual rooms within a home, basement units, single dwellings, apartments or condos, shared units, town homes, etc.
Our customer service team is available to answer questions and help landlords to repost or set-up new rental property listings at 1-866-766-0767.
