For the holidays in 2018, released a blog on Schools Your Favorite Holiday Characters Attended. While researching the content, we discovered quite a few well-known people who also attended our partner schools.

Donald Sutherland – University of Toronto

Donald Sutherland is a Canadian actor who has been gracing the big screen for almost five decades now. Just like all of the greats, Mr. Sutherland had to start somewhere, which happened to be at one of our partner schools – the University of Toronto! While at U of T, Donald graduated with a double major in engineering and drama. He was heavily involved at the Hart House Theatre.

FUN FACT: In the 80’s, Donald’s son Kiefer Sutherland was actually roommates with the famous actor Robert Downy Jr. in Los Angeles!

Charlie Hall – Northwestern University

In our Christmas blog, we revealed that Julia Louis-Dreyfus was an alumnus of our partner school Northwestern University. Charlie, Julia’s son, has followed her footsteps and is currently attending Northwestern University (where both his mother and father, writer-director Brad Hall, attended) and is a member of the Wildcats basketball team. Three points if you spot them in the stands!

Barack Obama – Occidental College

President Barrack Obama, the 44th President of the United States of America, spent his first two colligate years, from 1979-1981, at our partner school Occidental College! While at Occidental, President Obama became a part of the activist network on campus and on February 18, 1981, he made his first public speech. Flash forward to 2009, the once Occidental freshman can be seen making his first public speech as the President of the United Sates! Although he may have transferred after his first two years, there is no doubt that Occidental College played a significant role in his life.

Chelsea Clinton- Stanford University

Another major name in politics is the Clinton family. Although former President Bill Clinton and his wife, Hilary Clinton, both attended Yale, their daughter Chelsea chose to attend one of our partner schools, Stanford University. Chelsea graduated from Stanford with a Bachelor of Arts in History. She is now a Director with Expedia Group and serves as the Vice President with the Clinton Foundation.

William Shatner – McGill University

William Shatner is a cultural icon for his role as Captain James Kirk of the USS Enterprise. Before he was captaining missions through space, Mr. Shatner was attending our partner school McGill University! While at McGill, he studied Economics and eventually graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. In 2011, the University awarded him an honorary Doctorate of Letters, an award given in many countries by universities for achievement in the humanities, original contribution to the creative arts or scholarship and other merits!

Julia Roberts – Georgia State University

Julia was born in Atlanta and then moved to Smyrna, Georgia when she was four years old, where she stayed for the majority of her life. Before Miss Roberts starred in famous hits like Pretty Woman with Richard Gere and Runaway Bride, she pursued a career as a veterinarian at our partner school Georgia State University!

Debra Jo Rupp – University of Rochester

Debra Jo Rupp, famously known as Eric Forman’s mother, Kitty, on That 70’s Show, is also on the list of famous alumni from our partner schools! A native Californian, Debra Jo spent her post-secondary career attending University of Rochester! While there, she was an active member of the Drama House (a small theatre club and venue) and eventually graduated in 1974 with a Bachelors of Arts degree!

Jennifer Morrison - Loyola University Chicago

Jennifer Morrison is best known for her role as Emma Swan on ABC’s Once Upon A Time. Before pursuing her career as a model and then later as an actress, she attended our partner school Loyola University in Chicago! While at Loyola University, she majored in Theatre and minored in English, graduating in 2000.
